Sorry to have missed your comment Amy. I've seen this but have no experience with it and wonder if anyone else has.

I've seen many "space age" prototype planters over the past 30+ years and none of them has successfully come to market. Unfortunately Clay Pot Martha still rules the day but that will change.

Bob -- I have been following your plant blogs for some time and am having a great time making my own sub-irrigating containers. I found this device on Geekologie (http://www.geekologie.com/2007/12/air_purifier_cleans_with_the_p.php) and wondered if you'd seen it or had any experiences with it. Looks fascinating!

Hi Pete...I could be a smart ass and say a 26'U-Haul truck. Okay that bad joke is out of the way. The bigger question is what kept me in So Cal for so long. Perhaps you remember my idea of returning in an RV instead of the truck. That idea turned to dark. Not my thing.

One of the big (but not only) reasons for the move is access to cultural activities in the Big Apple. They are drying up in SoCal due to budget problems and public apathy.

I now live less than a mile from where we lived in Bay Ridge when I was 4. We moved to Lakeview and then Malverne. You know that expression "you can't go back"? Fuggedaboutit! You can. I'm home!

Are you still in Toronto? Some day I hope to visit Toronto. It seems like a city with a lot of culture based on some virtual trips on the web.

I'm also enjoying being out of the "glass bubble" (aka car). I'm a pedestrian using public transportation and love it. Okay, maybe not all the time.

Keep in touch Pete. Hope you are well and doing well.

Bob

p.s. Are you still wood turning? You do some really nice work. Why don't you blog about it?

Hi Bob,

See you are back in N.Y. What drove you away from California?
